Drew Mode is the stage name of independent recording artist, songwriter and executive producer, Andrew Abrego.

 

An American of Mexican descent, Abrego was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of the city.

 

After severe delays, his first official single, "Want It Bad", is expected to be released in the near future. A release date is currently unavailable.

 

On a personal note, by the time he became a teenager, Abrego had already lost several close family members -- including his mother when he was 4. In search of a form of expression, he began experimenting with poetry and songwriting at the age of 10 -- resulting in him establishing the skills he possesses today.

 

As a writer, he has privately contributed to the compositions of several artists in multiple genres. However, due to confidentiality, the artist's identities and projects are not publicly known.

 

A gifted wordsmith, Abrego frequently works from the shadows as a silent storm for others, while occasionally surfacing to deliver his own musical daggers.

 

Despite possessing the essential attributes to be an elite artist, Abrego, an avid detractor of fame, prefers to remain as far behind-the-scenes as possible. Therefore, he has no intention of ever recording an album. Rather, to satisfy his artistic urge, upon the revelation of "Want It Bad", he solely intends on releasing a minimum of one single per year.
